Happy Occupational Therapy Month!

As an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, you are part of a vitally important profession that helps people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Your holistic and customized approach to evaluations, interventions, and outcomes help a child with disabilities participate in school and in social situations, assist a person recovering from injuries to regain skills, aid an older adult to stay as independent as possible, and offer the specialized support and services to people of all ages and in all circumstances that only occupational therapy can provide.

We are honored that we get to work with so many talented occupational therapists and appreciate all that you do.

Here are ways to celebrate occupational therapy month from AOTA:

Tweet. Post. Share.

Describe how occupational therapy helps people live life to its fullest using hashtag: #OTMonth.

Throw an OT Party.

Invite former clients for a celebration of their achievements and how they are living life to its fullest during OT month. Ask them to bring friends and family. Invite local government officials, including your senator or member of Congress and the media.

Confer Special Honors.

Recognize an outstanding administrator, name an employee of the year a person or client who’s living life to its fullest. Arrange a ceremony or event to present the honor. Send out a press release to local media outlets. Take photos and share across social media platforms.
