We love the opportunity to partner with our clients in ways that go beyond business, especially when it benefits our community! That’s why we were thrilled to work with Providence Health & Services and the Junior League of Portland on their Festival of Trees event.
Since its inception in 1983, the Festival of Trees has raised over $16 million to provide quality health care to underserved communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, and this year is projected to be another tremendous success with over 20,000 attendees.
If you’re in the Portland area, stop by our display at the Oregon Convention Center! The event is open to the public on Saturday, December 1st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Plan Ahead with an Infectious Disease Calendar
Right now, everyone is focused on flu season developments, but obviously that’s not the only illness we need to worry about.
Various factors contribute to the onset and spread of infectious diseases. Many of them, however, have one thing in common: seasonal cyclicity. With this in mind, researchers developed a calendar of epidemics to help the medical community gain a more comprehensive understanding of these disease for better prevention.
The study investigated trends for over 60 diseases, analyzing them in the context of seasonal drivers, such as vector activity, climate, co-infection rates and more. Check out the full article here to better prepare your facility.
Hospitals Struggling in Aftermath of California Wildfires
California hospitals are still struggling in the aftermath of the deadliest wildfire in a century, which killed at least 85 people and displaced thousands of others. Though the fires are now contained, the damage they have caused can’t be undone.
Local hospitals were forced to evacuate during the fires, but now many of their employees who left no longer have a home to return to. As one spokeswoman for the only acute-care hospital in Paradise, CA said, “We asked [our employees] in the room if they had lost their homes; almost everybody put their hand up in the air.”
The fires may impact the long-term operations of these facilities, as they scramble to find temporary housing for their staff members and repair any structural damages to their campuses. Until then, many California communities may be left underserved in a time when people need help most.
