DOJ Sues AT&T for Time Warner Merger

 

The U.S. Department of Justice is attempting to block AT&T from purchasing Time Warner for $85.4 billion. The attempt appears to be a conflict of interest on behalf of the Trump administration. Because AT&T refuses to sell CNN, the DOJ has made the first move to shutdown the Time Warner merger. In a press release,  AT&T’s Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel David R. McAtee stated:

 

Today’s DOJ lawsuit is a radical and inexplicable departure from decades of antitrust precedent. Vertical mergers like this one are routinely approved because they benefit consumers without removing any competitor from the market. We see no legitimate reason for our merger to be treated differently…Read the full statement here.

 

 

Client Highlight: Cloudability Wins Growth Stage Award

 

Biotech, security software and cloud management companies dominated the 24th annual Oregon Entrepreneurs Network Awards held late last month. Among the winners was our client Cloudability Inc.
