 Renew Recovery and Humana Inc. Team Up to Fight Opioid Crisis

Big things are happening on the opioid epidemic front in Kentucky, a state with a significantly higher rate of opioid-related deaths than the rest of the country. The award winning health insurance company Humana has teamed up with Renew Recovery to offer comprehensive addiction treatment services for Humana members. Humana provides coverage to over 13 million Americans. Currently operating only in Kentucky, Renew Recovery is a State-licensed, JCAHO-approved network with plans for expansion. With collaborations like these, there’s hope for those devastated by opioid addiction.

 

 

Optimizing Treatment for HIV/HCV Coinfection

A third of Americans with HIV are coinfected HCV, and vice versa. These patients need a specific regimen that avoids harmful drug-drug interactions (DDIs). One useful resource clinicians can use to determine which regimens to use and which to avoid is the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases guidelines for HIV/HCV coinfection.
