The Opportunity
Join a high-volume Level II Trauma Center where your expertise will have an immediate impact. This inpatient-only Urology Hospitalist assignment offers the opportunity to manage a wide variety of complex cases while working alongside an experienced hospital team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Location: Florence, South Carolina
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026
  • Duration: August 10-16, 2026
  • Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
  • Setting: Inpatient Urology Hospitalist
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Approximately 600-bed regional medical center

What You'll Do
  • Provide inpatient Urology coverage as the sole on-site Urologist
  • Manage 24-hour call responsibilities
  • Round on hospitalized patients
  • Evaluate and respond to inpatient consults
  • Treat urgent and emergent Urologic cases from the Emergency Department
  • Perform surgical procedures as clinically indicated
  • Manage complex trauma-related Urologic injuries and general Urologic procedures

Required Clinical Experience
Candidates must be comfortable with:
  • Open trauma cases involving kidney, bladder, and testicular injuries, including stab and gunshot wounds
  • Stone management
  • Ureteral stents
  • Catheter placement
  • Cystoscopy
  • Adult and pediatric testicular torsion
  • Incidental appendectomy
  • Adrenal surgery
  • Hernia repair
  • Endourology procedures
  • Hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy
  • Practicing independently as the sole Urologist on site

Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
  • Active South Carolina Medical License
  • Active South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • DEA registration that can remain permanently registered in South Carolina
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high-acuity trauma environment
  • Clean professional background preferred

Important Onboarding Information
  • All new locum providers must complete a half-day onsite orientation before their first shift.
  • Orientation must occur Monday through Friday.
  • Orientation cannot be completed on weekends or holidays.
  • The preferred orientation date is the business day before the assignment begins. If that is not possible due to weekends or holidays, candidates must be available to complete orientation on another weekday before the start date.
