Hate Your Job? Here’s What You Can Do About It in 2019.

January 14, 2019

We’re in the first month of 2019. Now the pressure is on to put all those brimming plans and resolutions to action. Maybe you want to lose some weight, learn a new hobby or spend more time with family. Better yet, maybe you want to find a new job that lets you do all of the above.

Too many people feel that their careers are consuming their lives. But instead of pursuing new opportunities, they stick with what they know and try to work through the burnout—hoping that their discontent is only a phase, just a rough patch in their pursuit of happiness.

Perhaps this mindset can explain why over half of Americans are unhappy at work and, even worse, the mere 13 percent of employees who are actually engaged in their jobs.

If you think that’s sad, consider this: We spend an average of 90,000 hours at work over the course of our lives. That is a lot of time to devote to something you don’t like.

So What Can You Do?

No matter where you are in your career, there is never a bad time to pursue better opportunities. And it just so happens that now is the perfect time to start looking, since the first quarter is the busiest hiring boom of the year.

Of course, the job hunt can be daunting. With all the preparations you have to make researching various hospitals and facilities, gathering all your documents for credentialing and coordinating your travel arrangements for interviews—to say it’s overwhelming is an understatement!

Lucky for you, you don’t have to brave it alone. Many providers love working with recruiters because we take all the leg work out of the process, but be careful in whom you choose. Recruiters can either be your greatest ally or your worst nightmare.

We know it sounds weird hearing that from a staffing agency. However, we’ve been in this business a long time, so we know what makes a good recruiter—and what doesn’t.

A good recruiter will not harass you with jobs you don’t want. What they will do is listen to your needs and match you with a job that enables both your personal and professional success. This idea is something we wanted to explore in our fun video below!

Make Your Move in 2019

Life is too short to settle for a job you hate. If you’re ready to move on to bigger and better opportunities, we are happy to help you every step of the way! Before we can do that though, you have to tell us what you want for your career.

We know how scary it is to face the unknown, but you can’t pursue happiness if you only stick to the paths you know. Let us help you pave the way to a brighter future.

All you have to do now is stop settling—and make your move.
